Beauty Salons
Shampoo is a full- service beauty parlor open Monday through Saturday, 9 to 9, at the corner of Av. Melgar and Calle 3 South. Vogue Salon will come to you, by appointment only, if you call Mirna Molina (% 987/2-40-10; cellular % 987/9-19-87). Caribbean Massage (% 987/2-50-68) does beauty and hair on Av. 5 between Calles 3 and 5 South. Therapeutic massage and aromatherapy is available from Massage With Sue by appointment only at La Ceiba Resort, % 987/2- 08-12 or home 987/2- 46-12.

Bookstore
A bookstore with English-language titles is the Agencia de Publicaciones Gracia on the east side of the plaza. They should be carrying both our Hunter guides!

Narcotics Anonymous
English- language AA group meetings are held Sun., Mon., Wed., Fri. and Sat. at 6 pm in the Hotel Colonial on the corner of Av. 5 and Calle 7 South (% 987/2-10- 07). English NA meetings are held in the same place, a half- block from the main plaza, Tues. and Thurs. nights at 6 pm.

Laundry
Lavanderia Margarita is on Av. 20, near Calle 3 Sur.

Medical
There are several pharmacies in town, including one on the plaza, another at the zócalo near the Hotel Lopez and a 24-hour one at the Medical Center on Av. 20 Norte No. 425 (% 987/2-29-29). There's a 24-hour tourist medical service on Av. 50 between Calles 11 and 13 Sur (% 987/2-09-12). Call an ambulance at % 987/2-06-39. There are also several English-speaking doctors on the island. Try Dr. Lewis on Av. 50 (% 987/2-16-16,) or Dr Ricardo Segovia, who can obtain bed-to- bed transfers to several stateside hospitals, at Av. 15 North No 320 (% 987/2-33-70). Unidad Medica del Sur is a group practice on Av. Pedro Joaquin Coldwell, between 21 & 23 (% 987/2-57-87, emergencies, 987/4-57-20). A diver's recompression chamber is on Calle 5 Sur off Melgar at % 987/2-23-87 or 987/2-30-70.

Movies
English-language movies are shown every night at 9 pm at Cinema Cozumel, Av. Melgar between Calles 2 & 4, and Cine Cecilio Borge, on Benito Juaréz between Av. 30 and 35.
