Formerly a small fishing village, Playa del Carmen is now being discovered as the vacation alternative to the over-commercialized areas of Cancun and Cozumel. Playa offers a truly Mexican vacation with the necessities of home but with the opportunities of paradise.
We have a couple Resturants and Bars we recommend. For Pizza, pasta, salads, soup, desert, at Cafe de Gabi 1/2 block from Quinta Mija for Authentic yucantan food El chino cerviche, soup, fish, pork, chicken, shrimp, and margaritas. Its a pleasant 6 block walk, going toward downtown Playa. Pick-up a map at the bar for better directions.
Another Favorite, if you want to eat in the downtown atomosphere is Mascards. Close to the beach on the walkway across from Playa's park/swing set. Good Pizzas, soup, smoked salmon, fish, lagzana, wines, Flan and cake deserts.
You might wish to venture out and visit the ancient Mayan ruins or take the ferry to Cozumel for a day of shopping. After your day, visit one of Playa's restaurants or clubs for wining, dining, dancing, romancing, or simply enjoy the Mexican nights by moon gazing.
An average day at Quinta Mija can be anything you make it.
